Rochester Roundhouse is located just off the A68 to the rear of the Camien Café in Rochester. The Roundhouse is a community facility open for events. At other times the structure is closed to the public.

This project is the third of the Testing Ground programme of architectural commissions that is enabling architecture students from Newcastle University to work with a range of communities and other user groups across the Park. The project has responded to community wishes to reuse the old unused and dilapidated 'Brigantium' visitor attraction to create a new external amphitheatre space using the old roundhouse's walls, and has put in place a completely new pavilion close by to provide a simple and elegant internal space for community events and activities.
