Deadwater air traffic control radar installation is one of Kielder's most visible landmarks that can be seen from many locations within the Park. Sitting on top of the 1900' summit of Deadwater Fell and overlooking Kielder Village, the facility controls the local airspace for NATO jets that are often seen engaging in low-flying exercises over the Park. Deadwater radar is close to the start of the Deadwater mountainbike trail and also Specere, a shelter designed by internationally renowned architect David Adjaye.
